Basket Camp Upper Peninsula!

We are excited to hit the road and weave with you all! Basket Camp comes to the Upper Peninsula in Gwinn, Michigan! Join us for three full days of weaving willow amidst the pine forests. Students will go home with up to two baskets of their own weaving. Your baskets, built with durable strong willow and accompanied by Zac’s guidance will be ready to last the test of time, potentially lasting for generations.

Beginner to advanced weavers welcome, there will be something for everyone.

There will be dedicated time for questions about growing, harvesting, and preparing your own willow.

All tools provided.

Instructor: Zac Fittipaldi

Zac began his basketry journey nearly two decades ago with a year-long apprenticeship under basket teacher Margret Mathewson. Since then, he has explored the depths of basketry, working with materials such as willow, black ash, bark baskets, and soft twine basswood. Zac has taught hundreds of students basketry and cares for a willow farm featuring over a dozen varieties of basketry willow.
